Netguard Terms of Use

Netguard ("the App") is developed and provided by YANRU CHEN ("we"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Service description

Netguard is a phishing-URL detection tool that runs offline on your device. Using heuristic analysis (typosquatting, visual spoofing, brand impersonation, suspicious wording, etc.), it produces a "risk assessment" and a plain-language explanation for URLs you provide, to help you judge whether a URL may be a phishing site.

2. No guarantee (important)

The App provides risk assessments and reference guidance, not a guarantee or warranty of any URL's safety.

• Results may produce false positives (flagging a safe URL) or false negatives (failing to identify an actual phishing site).
• The decision to visit a URL, enter personal information, or transact is ultimately yours, and so is the responsibility.
• The App does not replace your own judgment, antivirus software, or other security measures.

3. Subscriptions (Netguard Pro)

• Netguard Pro is an auto-renewable subscription offering monthly and yearly plans, with a 7-day free trial.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account upon confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; renewal is charged within 24 hours before the period ends.
• If you do not cancel during the free trial, you will be charged for the selected plan when the trial ends; any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
• You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings.
• Payment, refunds, and subscription management are handled by the Apple App Store under its terms; we do not access or store your payment information.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the App for any unlawful purpose, not to interfere with or disrupt the service, not to attempt to reverse engineer or bypass the payment mechanism, and not to engage in any activity that infringes the rights of others.

5. Intellectual property

The App and its contents (code, interface design, icons, trademarks) are owned by us or our licensors. These Terms grant you no intellectual-property rights except as expressly stated.

6. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

• The App is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
• To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App, including but not limited to losses arising from reliance on detection results.

7. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with an updated date; significant changes will be indicated appropriately in the app. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

8. Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed under the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan).
